Anthony’s Barber Shop

Anthony’s Barber Shop Success Story.

Established in 1888, Anthony’s Barber is known as one of the oldest barber shops in the Wyomissing, PA area. The well-established gentleman’s barber shop offers haircuts from flattops and fades, to longer style cuts, in addition to the traditional straight razor shaves for men. Although, Anthony’s does not only serve men, it also welcomes and serve women clients.

Anthony’s Wyomissing establishment is a known landmark and a staple in the Berks County community. The barber shop has been in business for almost 130 years with the existing shop in the same Wyomissing location for over 50 years. Bill Holland, now the current owner, was seeking to purchase the property of Anthony’s.  As a veteran, Mr. Holland looked to the  U.S. Small Business Administration’s online referral tool, Lender Match (formerly LINC – Leveraging Information and Networks to access Capital), to connect with a participating SBA lender.

Mr. Holland connected with Riverview Bank and PCDfc to obtain an SBA 504 loan. Mr. Holland financed the real estate for the project and included some construction project costs at a below market interest rate for a 20 year term.

The traditional Barbershop environment displays a 10 chair shop, and has a minimum of 6 barbers on staff at all times to reduce any wait time. Anthony’s welcome walk-ins from 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays.

Mr. Holland representing Anthony’s Barber shop proudly works with the local community. As Anthony’s continues to travel down the road to success PCDfc is proud to have helped them along the way with the 504 loan program.
